Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xianhua Attends Exchange Meeting with Maldivian Participants of the Medical and Health Training Program in Sichuan
On August 12, Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Kong Xianhua attended an exchange meeting with Maldivian participants of the medical and health training program in Sichuan. Ambassador Kong and Minister of Health, Family and Welfare of the Maldives H.E. Geela Ali listened to the participants’ feedback on the training.

Ambassador Kong noted that health cooperation is an important component of building a China-Maldives community with a shared future. China has long supported the development of the Maldives’ healthcare sector, and the two countries have achieved fruitful results in health cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to the Maldivian people. China stands ready to provide more medical training programs to help the Maldives develop local medical professionals.

Minister Geela Ali expressed appreciation for China’s longstanding and valuable support for the development of the Maldives’ healthcare sector, and spoke highly of the outcomes of the training program in Sichuan. She expressed hope that the Maldives would strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China and train more local medical professionals.
From July 20 to August 2, Sichuan hosted the first Belt and Road International Training Program on Surgical and Rehabilitation Techniques for Female Pelvic Floor Disorders. Fourteen medical professionals from different islands of the Maldives participated in the program and successfully completed the training.
